Bodenskolan takes its place in the public and private
In an exhibition curated by Ingela Ögren Weinmar at Havremagasinet in Boden, the artist group Bodenskolan was highlighted. In the exhibition, Montana’s art was given an extra large space, Havremagasinet writes:
The only woman in the group, June Montana, deserves special attention. What would the Bodenskolan have become without her unifying force during the 1950s and 60s – as a teacher, inspirer and driving force for many inquisitive and aspiring artists?

After her death, she has been represented in an exhibition at Havremagasinet (2008) and in March 2023 and March 2024 at Galleri 14 in Boden, themed Bodenskolan, and in Stensjö, Halmstad (2021). Framnäs Folkhögskola has performed a musical based on her mural in connection with Piteå’s 400th anniversary in 2021.
